The best of the magic potions The Alchemia series high strings are made from a newly discovered material in Italy, a mixture of a plastic material derived from sugar cane and a certain percentage of Nylgut. The sound of these strings is as bright, fast and clean as that of fluorocarbon strings. The strings have excellent vibrato and a remarkable variation in tone when the right hand is moved from the bridge to the center of the rosette. In other words, in their extremes, they provide all the smoothness and musicality of gut with the typical brightness and speed of fluorocarbon. Another characteristic property is sustain, which has been shown to be superior to any other type of string currently available on the market. Another characteristic measured is the sound power: our tests showed that it is superior to fluorocarbon strings, but it is inferior to the projection offered by the Sugar range. Although the surface is extremely smooth, the gray is remarkable; in other words, they are never slippery.
