Very good closed-back headphones to perfect or rough out the mix alternately with monitoring.
True to the AKG tradition, bass a bit recessed, upper-mid slightly forward, a small correction on the headphone preamp and it's perfect, although you can do without it once accustomed. Note the ease and precision of panoramic placements with this tool. For mastering listening, the semi-open K240 reproduces the sound space a bit better, but this 271MKII remains very very good in all circumstances.
Used alongside the previous version "K271-Studio" which remains my dedicated headphones, these headphones make me happy during recordings, no bleed into the static microphone despite a significant sound volume in the singer's return.
Be careful though, fragile plastic at the ear cup orientation if dropped.
A big plus: spare foam pads, two detachable cables including one coiled (for clumsy people like me it's great), and the sound cuts off when you take them off...... (Show more)

First of all, I must highlight the seriousness of the site: my order was received quickly and in excellent condition.
Then, since I just received the headset, my review will be my first impressions.
The headset is well finished, nice, exudes manufacturing quality and solidity.
It is light, comfortable. The extra cable/earphone set is welcome.
I want to specify that I am not an audio professional, and the headset is only used to listen to music/movies on HiFi equipment without disturbing the whole family. As for the sound, the headset is not yet broken in, but the first impressions are good: no artifices, no overemphasized bass, the sound is clear, faithful, beautiful. It is certainly not the best headset for listening to hip hop or techno, but for listening to classical, rock, metal, OSTs and watching movies, it suits me perfectly!
At +220 (initial price) I don't know if I would have bought it, but at 140 it's a very good deal in my opinion.... (Show more)

incredibly precise and surgical headset: you really hear everything. It's the most neutral of those I've tried. I had tried among others the Sony MDR: impossible to premix or do control with that: intrusive or even shrill mid-highs and other headsets that boosted certain frequencies like the Beyerdynamic DT 770: too much bass that swallowed all other frequencies. I really have the impression of finding my monitoring speakers, switching from one to the other no bad surprise! Some will find the sound too "flat"... Actually that's what you ask of it, after all it's a MONITORING headset! It's not made to listen to music but to work on mixes and for that it does it perfectly, although I still take a lot of pleasure rediscovering my CDs with it. Very good headset!! Super light, you barely feel it on your head, as soon as you play some sound you are isolated from the world, you don't hear anything except the music. No problem with the system that cuts the sound when you take it off your head. A very clear sound, really surprising, super pleasant, the headset handles bass very well. No problem with the detachable cable, it's quite practical. For mixing, listening to sound on an mp3 or other. For some, 130 may seem a lot, but you won't regret it!! Fast delivery (less than 48 hours), very good product, I recommend it!!!

Not much to add compared to other comments: Precise, neutral, analytical sound, quite good isolation, lightness, two mini XLR/Jack cables (one twisted, the other not), two pairs of ear tips... Some might say it lacks a case but this headset is by no means portable so it's useless :D.
Can just as well be used for personal/passive listening, but fans of heavy bass like "Beats by Dr Dre" will be extremely disappointed, but what a treat to rediscover tracks ;).
As for delivery, nothing to say, ordered on Pentecost Monday, received on Wednesday, thanks again WoodBrass :D.

Woodbrass's service is excellent. Package received in 2 days at the pickup point in Paris in perfect condition and well packed.
The headphones are simply impressive. The sound is detailed, clear, almost analytical. Very comfortable and good external noise isolation. Comes with plenty of accessories and replacement ear pads.

Very very good headset, automatically adjusts to the user's head, it automatically cuts off when removed from the head, very comfortable as if you weren't wearing it. delivered very quickly, the headset is well made with a very flat sound (which is what I needed :) ) I just regret the sound insulation which could have been more important, however we would have lost comfort (you put on the headset and forget it because it is so light)

I have owned this headset for over 15 years and it is still operational with a very clear output in the highs and mids, the bass is a bit light, it offers a very spatialized sound. In 15 years I have only changed the cable and the cushions once - a very good investment

Very good an akg, the closed version of a k240. Two 3.5mm cables with 6.35 adapter are provided, they connect to the headset via mini xlr. The twisted cable is a bit stiff and transmits noise in the headset when handled. This is normal
