The Hour Glass is a dual-compression pedal that offers eternal sustain and endless creativity thanks to its 2 independent circuits inspired by Ross's legendary compressor. When Jackson Audio designed its first optical double compressor in 2018 with the Bloom, they quickly realized that musicians really needed one.
It was the ultimate compressor for country, funk, Pacific Northwest and slide players, as it was ideal for changing guitars or for infinite sustain. The Hour Glass takes this concept one step further, giving you total control over 2 independent vintage-style analog compressors.
For each of the 2 compressors, choose from 3 attack times (slow, medium or fast) to adjust the response to your playing, and use the Treble selector for a flat, medium or high boost to adjust the high frequencies. Set one compressor for your guitars with single pickups and the other for your guitars with humbuckers, to keep your sound precise and dynamic when you change guitars. The 2 compressors can also be engaged simultaneously for infinite sustain.
