Before the HHX, dark cymbals lacked sharpness. The unique combination of a high profile, a wide raw bell, and XXL hammering allows the complex and dark tones of the HHX to be biting in any musical context. Ideal for contemporary music and stages that require volume and projection, the HHX are the ultimate answer for drummers who want to combine dark tones and power, tradition and modernity.
ANTHOLOGY Rhymes with Unreleased!
Jojo Mayer has once again used his technical knowledge and talent to create this series with an incredible sound!
Fierce hi-hats, Fierce crash, Omni Ride or Chopper, these cymbals have marked Sabian’s history and drummers worldwide who had the chance to play them. The new Anthology will not break the rule and will certainly become very popular!
The innovative design of the HHX Anthology offers a full spectrum of sounds from a ride and a crash on each cymbal, with no compromise on sound or feel. Unprecedented control and sound range offering new possibilities for the drummer to play and create in their own way and without limits.
Between Tradition and Modernism
The HHX Anthology series is the pinnacle of the fundamental innovations of HHX cymbals, combining traditional and contemporary sounds in a single cymbal. Combining AAX and HHX hammering to capture the very essence of AAX, that is a pure and bright sound, and the specifics of HHX which offer a thin cymbal and a darker tone.
Two Types of Sounds
The Anthology series offers two lines: Low and High. This allows you to select the type of sound you want. A slightly lower pitch for the Low series and a much smaller bell. As for the High series, a higher pitch and a taller bell. This crash with traditional, powerful, and rich tones offers a full spectrum of ride and crash sound possibilities in one cymbal. The HHX Anthology makes no compromise on sound or playing feel. It reflects Jojo Mayer’s style: precise, powerful, and versatile.
Attention to Detail
The rings of the Anthology logo are a visual representation of how this product unifies the past, present, tradition, and Sabian research.
The Anthology logo is curved and placed at 10 o’clock, giving it its own space without cluttering the HHX area. All this creates an interesting balance that makes this cymbal unique in appearance and incredible in sound.
The Anthology and HHX logos have lighter contours, in golden ink, on the hammered area. The hammered bronze creates a subtle tone-on-tone effect that gives the cymbal an impression of discreet and minimalist luxury.
The Sabian logos, size, and weight are inscribed on the back side of the cymbal.
