The ULTRA-DI PRO DI4800A fits the "all-in-one" rack solution approach: grouping several DI boxes into a single space to ensure reliable wiring and speed up stage changes. With its 4 channels, balanced connectors, and OT-1 output transformers, it aims for simple integration in touring environments, project studios, and fixed installations where consistency and quick setup matter as much as signal quality.
This 4-channel active DI is intended for keyboardists, guitarists/bassists, electronic musicians, stage technicians, and home studio users who want to send a clean signal to a console or recorder while maintaining convenient distribution to an amp or monitoring system. It is particularly relevant for configurations where multiple instruments or line outputs must be converted/isolated quickly (stereo keyboards, modules, players, multi-effects, interface outputs, etc.).
Each channel offers a combo XLR / 6.35mm TRS balanced input and two XLR outputs (front and rear). This architecture allows choosing the most logical wiring path depending on your rack: front patching for daily use or rear outputs for permanent installation. In total, the DI4800A provides 8 XLR outputs.
The DI4800A is not limited to conversion and adaptation: it includes a gain switch per channel offering +6 dB, +12 dB, or +18 dB to raise quiet sources. Conversely, a -20 dB pad is available to handle higher levels and prevent upstream saturation of the console or the next stage.
On stage and in the studio, ground loops remain one of the most frequent causes of hum. The DI4800A offers a Ground Lift per channel to disconnect the ground when necessary and quickly restore a usable signal. The package is completed by gold-plated XLR outputs and a design claimed to be low noise, preserving detail and dynamics even over long cable runs.
