Hohner - HarmonicaAlongside standard Richter harmonicas, Hohner offers a whole range of special models whose characteristics are particularly suited to certain styles or playing techniques.
Diatonic vs Chromatic
Diatonic harmonicas contain only 7 notes over several octaves with a particular layout that allows easy chord production by blowing and drawing. With the interaction of the blow reed and draw reed in each channel, these harmonicas allow the alteration of certain notes, creating the characteristic plaintive effect of the blues while providing the missing chromatic notes on a diatonic instrument.
Progressive Series
Pioneers like Howard Levy, Carlos Del Junco, mavericks like Mariano Massolo, the dynamic Rachelle Plas, or the young virtuoso Konstantin Reinfield, all these artists play on models from the Progressive range.
Rocket AMP
The Rocket AMP harmonica features closed side vents to project the sound towards the back of the instrument and amplify its power when played in front of a microphone. Its ergonomic design improves playing comfort. Furthermore, the channel openings have been rounded and enlarged, which facilitates playing and increases the instrument's airtightness, thus reducing the player's breathlessness. The sound is powerful with open covers.
