The YDP-165 features a piano tone sampled from Yamaha's world-renowned CFX concert grand piano. The combination of its sparkling highs and deep lows delivers a wonderfully expressive sound. From the lowest to the highest notes, the YDP-165 delivers detailed, clear, overtone-rich sound. It allows you to play expressively, being able to faithfully transcribe all your nuances during your daily practice and all the emotions you want to share during your interpretations.

ACOUSTIC PIANO PLAYABILITY AND HALF PEDAL EFFECT


With 88 notes and a piano-like mechanism, the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard offers natural feel with a heavier bass and lighter treble feel. It thus perfectly reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano with a response and feeling similar to a piano, allowing rapid repetition of notes and perfect control of nuances. In addition, it incorporates the half-pedal function which perfectly simulates the interaction between the damper and the string depending on the depression of the pedal.

HARMONIC RESONANCES LIKE ON A GRAND PIANO: VIRTUAL RESONANCE MODELING LITE (VRM LITE)


One of the elements behind the charm of a grand piano's sound is the sympathetic resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The YDP-165 painstakingly reproduces this phenomenon using a revolutionary technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite). VRM Lite technology creates rich, varied sound by simulating the complex interactions created when string vibrations propagate across the soundboard and to other strings, based on keyboard play and pedal usage.

The YDP-165 uses a new concept allowing the sound that emanates from inside the cabinet to escape to the back of the piano. This allows you to experience the natural sound radiation and three-dimensional resonance like on an acoustic piano.

Usually, one leaves a comment when there is a problem, but the quality of this piano compels me to share a positive review. I have been playing on an acoustic study piano for about ten years, and I bought this Yamaha as a complement. Since then, I only play on this one. The touch quality is really excellent and far exceeds that of a poorly made upright piano. At this price, it's better to invest in a good digital piano, and this model is simply remarkable. I recommend it 200% for any pianist, beginner or advanced, who really wants to progress. The sound is of good quality and, once recorded, it is simply excellent.
