Roland JUNO-X

Description

Essential Information About the Roland JUNO-X Synthesizer

  • Spirit of the classic "JUNO-60" and "JUNO-106" powered by the modern "ZEN-Core" engine.
  • New "JUNO-X" modeling with enhanced Super Saw, velocity response, and Chorus III mode.
  • Massive bank: integrated "XV-5080" sounds, "RD" stage pianos, and vocoder.
  • Stage-ready: 61 keys with aftertouch, stereo speakers, Bluetooth, and USB audio/MIDI.

A JUNO Heir Designed for Stage and Studio

The JUNO-X reinvents the warm signature of the legendary JUNOs thanks to the ZEN-Core and compatible Modeling Extensions from Roland Cloud. This hybrid approach combines virtual analog modeling and a vast PCM library, creating an instrument at the crossroads of homage and innovation. It stands as the versatile model in the lineup, designed for live reliability and creative production.

Who Is It For? From Live to Modern Productions

Ideal for stage keyboardists, producers, and content creators, the JUNO-X excels in pop, electro, techno, synthwave, ambient, or film scoring. Its expressive keyboard, high-resolution controls, and multi-part Scenes make it an agile companion in the studio, rehearsals, and performances.

Features and Innovations

At its core, a virtual-analog subtractive synthesis combined with the ZEN-Core architecture and JUNO-60/JUNO-106/JUNO-X modeling. The revamped Super Saw and JUNO Chorus (including Chorus III mode) deliver wide pads and full basses, while generous polyphony allows dense layers and evolving pads.

Scenes combine up to four parts plus drums to stack leads, pads, basses, and rhythms. The I-Arpeggio with intelligent algorithms sparks inspiration, complemented by a traditional arpeggiator and a vocoder with dedicated mic input. Over 4,000 presets from the XV-5080 and RD pianos provide immediately usable sound material.

On the integration side, the JUNO-X offers USB audio/MIDI for direct recording into a DAW, Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless audio and MIDI, and Wi-Fi access via Roland Cloud Connect (WC-1 adapter) to load extensions and packs. The 2 x 4 W built-in speakers provide instant monitoring, and the JUNO-X Editor facilitates sound creation and management.

I have 2 Juno 106…and sold them to buy the Juno X. Excellent for what it does. We are in 2024. Come on wake up! Why do we keep old synths…for nostalgia?
