Revstar range was the first series of electric guitars offered by Yamaha in over a decade, relying on the brand's expertise in luthiery and electric guitar design and on the engineering and design heritage of the Yamaha Motor Co. motorcycle branch.
The new
Revstar series is structured around three levels:
Element,
Standard, and
Professional handcrafted in Japan. All models feature
chambered bodies developed according to Yamaha's
Acoustic Design process. Using advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambered design to acoustically sculpt the tones, increase resonance while reducing weight and promoting balance.
All new
Revstar models feature unprecedented switching options for greater versatility. The
Revstar Element models are equipped with the high-pass filter
Dry Switch introduced in the original series. The
Revstar Standard and
Professional models, available with humbucker pickups or P90-type single-coil pickups, feature the
Focus Switch, a passive boost function that evokes the sound of overwound pickups, as well as a unique 5-position switching circuit that offers a new approach to classic "in-between" sounds.
The new range also features a new neck profile for all models, a new variety of race-inspired finishes, and the first left-handed models in the history of the
REVSTAR series.
The new Revstar® guitars refine the look, design, sound, and feel of the original Revstar electric guitar series offered by Yamaha since 2015.
The new Professional series models, handcrafted in Japan, are the new flagships of this new range.
The RSP20 is available in four café racer style-inspired finishes and features carbon reinforcements on the neck and chambered body – an unprecedented concept developed according to Yamaha's exclusive Acoustic Design process to sculpt the sound, reduce weight, and ensure optimal balance. The two VH5 humbucker pickups, combined with a 5-position pickup selector and a passive push/pull focus switch, offer uncommon versatility for a two-pickup guitar. These new models come with a certificate and are delivered in a deluxe case.
