The Classic Volca, Updated

An evolution of a bestseller, the Volca Sample (Rev 2) retains the direct and playful spirit of the Volca series while modernizing the workflow. This revision makes sound loading easier, improves live performance, and integrates ideally with other modules in the range, from Volca Beats to Volca FM.

Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?

Ideal for beatmakers, live performers, and electronic music producers (techno, house, hip-hop, synthwave, ambient), it suits both beginners and advanced users. Its portability and immediate synchronization make it a perfect companion in the studio, on stage, or for mobile experimentation.

Features and New Additions

Based on PCM sample playback, the Volca Sample (Rev 2) offers 16 independent parts and a maximum polyphony of 8 voices. The 16-step sequencer combines step-by-step and real-time recording, "step jump," and up to 11 parameter automations to capture movement. The Song mode chains your patterns for extended performances. On the sound design side, the analog isolator allows you to emphasize bass and treble, the built-in reverb sets the space, while the "Reverse" function instantly flips a sample. Sample import/management is simple via the iOS app or micro USB with dedicated software. MIDI In and Sync In/Out connectivity ensures smooth integration with other Volcas, a drum machine, software sequencer, or hybrid setup.

So I only use it as a "tool" to manipulate samples and make loops to use on Maschine; not to make patterns or complex tracks and for the use I have for it, it's very good, it allows a different approach and a way to create loops and variations that hold together.

It's even better than the first generation Volca Sample. The USB port makes file transfer and firmware updates easy. I love the build quality and its portability.
