A modern tribute to the SH-101, the S-1 condenses the classic Roland's aesthetic and joystick control into an AIRA Compact format. Its ACB technology recreates the vintage analog character while adding polyphony and advanced controls for mobile creation, studio, and stage use.

For Beatmakers, Live Performers, and Sound Designers

Designed for beginners as well as experienced producers, the S-1 excels in techno, house, electro, synthwave, ambient, hip-hop, and soundtrack music. Its pocket size, 26 multifunction pads, and live performance features make it an ideal partner for live shows, jams, and sound experimentation.

Features and Innovations

The virtual-analog subtractive engine offers Square, Saw, Sub, and Noise oscillators, controlled by envelope, filter, and LFO. The OSC Draw and OSC Chop functions allow waveform drawing and slicing for metallic and evolving textures. The 64-step sequencer captures in real time or step-by-step, with parameter automation and probability settings for dynamic patterns. On the performance side, the arpeggiator, Step Loop, and D-Motion enhance expression, while the Chorus, Delay, and Reverb effects deliver the signature Roland sound.

incredible this little S-1 with crazy sounds, super complete Roland did very well with this little synth. do not be fooled by its small size which is actually very practical because it does not take up much space and can be taken everywhere, small but huge with its possibilities. Thanks also to the whole Woodbrass Team for their seriousness.

a must-have for everyone who loves working with sounds, even on public transport. The Roland quality is well established, and being able to take it everywhere and use it anywhere is really a plus with the built-in battery.
