Needless to say that with Vic Firth, we are dealing with an extremely successful production. In fact, the quality of the wood is never lacking, the chopsticks are perfectly straight, and most importantly, they are paired with criteria of precision and non-negotiable precision!

A series for all musicians.
Before leading the brand that still bears his name today, the late Vic Firth was above all an accomplished percussionist who practiced his art under the auspices of the greatest conductors in the Boston Symphony Orchestra. His first pair was designed to meet the needs of a musical piece for which he wanted a particular sound and touch. Assisted by the greatest drummers on the planet, the designers of the brand have retained this requirement to market baguettes with undeniable prestige.

These PE2 sticks (with a tapered tip) correspond to the peter erskine model called "the ride stick", meaning that (compared to the other PE model with a round tip) the weight is a bit more shifted to the back, which helps a lot for fast ride in jazz, the stick bouncing faster in the palm. I've tried many sticks of all kinds and these PE2 are really the fastest for chabada! The tips wear out quite quickly though (or maybe it's me using them too much...). I also find that the tapered tips produce a very good sound on cymbals, rather muffled to develop the low end of the sustains, (if you want to make the cymbals scream in the high end you have to play with the pro-mark Wertico, also excellent for training...)... Very good drumsticks, thin, and well balanced. The only ones that allowed me to overcome tendinitis in both wrists ;-) I play all styles in a variety orchestra and they fit perfectly... Indeed a longevity issue but 5h of set/week + training... I'm not more surprised than that!!
