Key Features for Professional and Controlled Sound


Tone Control - Two discreet switches allow activation of a low-cut filter to clean up the low end and a presence boost to enhance vocal intelligibility without heavy post-production.


Silence and Isolation - The dynamic capsule with cardioid directivity focuses capture on the performer, while internal pneumatic isolation drastically reduces handling and stand noise, and shielding repels interference from screens, speakers, or fluorescent lights.


Broadcast Ergonomics - The yoke mount ensures precise and stable placement in front of the mouth. Supplied with a standard windshield and the A7WS windshield dedicated to close-miking, which attenuates breath noises and plosives in close vocal situations.

Superb mic, more precision and brightness than a standard dynamic mic, and more information in the lows as well, not as bright as a condenser but the sound is so clean, no plosives, sibilance, hissing, you can do whatever you want with the EQ. Make sure to have a good preamp though because it doesn't have much gain. Personally, I traded my condenser mic for this SM7B because it's more practical for recording, less sensitive to ambient noise, no pop filter needed, and Michael recorded Thriller with it, so... :-) The switches on the back for a mid bump or a bass cut are very practical too.

Excellent microphone in terms of value for money. A classic, this sm7B. I bought it to record my voice. Well made. Solid. It will allow you to produce quality voices in a home studio or pro studio. Personally, I use it with a Chandler germanium preamp. Excellent combo... I highly recommend it. Less than €400!
