The SD-1 is Universal Audio's benchmark dynamic mic for studio and live. It features a cardioid polar pattern, switches to activate low-cut and boost clarity, and Apollo channel strip presets. With the Standard SD-1 dynamic mic, you can capture vocals, instruments, livestreams and podcasts like a pro, with studio-quality sound ready to hit the airwaves.

Professional vocal takes everywhere

The SD-1 gives you studio-grade sound and style, whatever your recording conditions. It's purpose-built for dialogue and up-close vocals, and its dynamic design naturally rejects background noise like fans, fridges and dissipated co-workers.

Shape your sound with Quick Controls

Reduce bass resonances in your recordings with the SD-1's built-in low-cut filter. And thanks to the boost in clarity and precision, the microphone will immediately reinforce the presence of vocals and instruments.

The sound of the pros, thanks to the presets for the Apollo Console

Stop wondering how to get the perfect sound! Apollo presets programmed specifically for the SD-1 mic feature EQ and compression settings that will make your vocals, guitars, and shows sound like they're on the radio.

Style for your studio

With its sleek, modern design and rear-mounted XLR connector for easy cable routing, the SD-1 will immediately bring a touch of style to your production space. Whether you're making music, podcasts, livestreams or Zoom conferences, your new home studio mic has arrived, and you won't be able to live without it.

Positive Points: - Delivery went perfectly with a package in good condition. - Regarding the Micro after several hours of use, it is robust and quite pleasant to handle, you immediately feel that you are dealing with a professional quality microphone. A pure, clear, and fairly neutral sound, which can be disconcerting for beginners because to get a sound that suits your voice or instrument, you will need to go through good processing. - The plugins delivered with it are really well made and interesting to use whether in voice capture, instrument recording, or creative work. (If you manage to download them... Hello UA Connect) Negative Points: - The first is not really a negative point but worth mentioning. You will definitely need to equip yourself with a FetHead or Cloudfilter type preamp with the microphone. We are dealing with a dynamic microphone with very very low gain, similar to its cousin the Shure Sm7b. With this tool, you will have a much more powerful sound and you will not have to turn up the gain of your audio interface almost to the max to hear something. Essential both for gain boost and for the noise generated by the original microphone pushed to the max. And finally... Please Universal Audio, you need to do something about your digital supports and allow us to record the serial numbers of our devices calmly. Your applications that work after the 10th security tweak on MacOS, contacting support twice, restarting 5 times, doing 3 backflips and a prayer to avoid error messages... It's quite annoying. I wish you good luck. Conclusion: A microphone that keeps all its promises and will make the majority happy whether for podcasting or even home studio recording. You just have to be patient and take your time to understand the beast and make all the necessary adjustments for your use as well as to recover the plugins. I recommend it... (Show more)
