Introduced in 2006, the Hellraiser series has established itself as one of Schecter's flagship lines, designed to combine a spectacular look with a decidedly modern approach. This Hellraiser 7 incorporates the iconic aesthetic codes (flamed maple top, abalone, gothic inlays) while focusing on performance-oriented ergonomics, notably thanks to the sculpted "Ultra Access" heel and active electronics tailored for heavy tones.
The Schecter Hellraiser 7 targets intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a reliable 7-string for both studio and stage. Its 26.5" / 673 mm scale length and 16" / 406 mm radius make it an excellent foundation for modern metal, djent, metalcore, hard rock, as well as more nuanced playing thanks to the coil-splitting pickups. The 24 X-Jumbo frets favor lead playing, bends, and a sharp attack, even in low tunings.
The combination of mahogany (body + neck) and flamed maple top delivers a dense low end, solid mids, and a snappier attack, ideal for maintaining clarity on 7 strings. The EMG 707TW active pickups provide a high output level, controlled compression, and excellent precision on palm mutes and fast riffs. The 3-way selector switch and 2 volume + 1 tone controls allow easy balancing between rhythm and lead, while the split function opens the door to airier and sharper textures when you seek more articulation.
This guitar comes factory-equipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 2621 strings (.010-.056 gauge): if you like their feel and response, sticking with the same set is a safe choice. The gig bag/case is optional: the SGR-1C model is listed as compatible and sold separately.
