The EXL117 is an extreme hybrid play, optimized for lower tunings of a tone to traditional tuning, while retaining the comfortable tension of a set of Light calibers.

The XL's nickel-spun XLs, D'Addario's most popular electric guitar strings, are made of nickel-plated steel wire spun precisely around a carefully machined carbon steel core. The result: durable strings with a distinctive bright tone and excellent intonation, ideal for a wide range of guitars and musical styles.
Hybrid calibers optimized for tuning in D, i.e. a tone below normal
