In the vast musical production of Darius Milhaud (Marseille, September 4, 1892 – Geneva, June 22, 1974) appear more than 450 titles between operas, ballets, stage music, choral music, compositions for voice and instruments, chamber music and for piano . The guitar, for its part, occupies only a marginal place with a single short piece, written in 1957 and entitled Segoviana. Andalusian guitarist Andrés Segovia (1893–1987) is not only the dedicatee but also the protagonist, in that the piece is designed to draw his portrait. This edition, edited by Frédéric Zigante, differs from the first, dated 1959, by a clearer layout which makes it easier to read and insert fingerings.
