Developed by Allen & Heath to address the shortcomings of traditional monitor systems, such as musicians' dependence on the monitor engineer for a good mix or excessive overall stage volume, the ME system provides each musician with exceptional sound quality and perfect control over their monitor mix. Compatible with Qu, SQ, and GLD consoles, the ME system supports two connection schemes: either daisy-chained via the etherCon inputs/outputs of the modules or star-configured via the ME-U.

Designed to withstand the rigors of touring, rack-mountable in 19" format, the ME-U features 10 etherCon connectors to connect up to 10 ME-1 or ME-500 units in a star configuration. It also includes a network port that provides access to a channel naming configuration page for each connected module via PC or Mac, and a slot for an input card. The ME-U comes standard with a communication card compatible with Qu, GLD, or Aviom systems, which can be replaced by a MADI, Dante, or Waves card to feed a third-party mixing console.
