Description

B.B. King Lucille, Ebony
Based on the famously named guitars of blues legend B.B. King, the Epiphone B.B. King Lucille was inspired by the various Gibson ES™ models he played over the years - all of which were named Lucille. Standout features that make this Lucille such a stunning guitar and loving tribute include gold hardware, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, ebony fretboard with pearloid block inlays, a brass truss rod cover with B.B. King’s name engraved on it, mother of pearl Lucille inlay on the headstock face, multi-ply binding on the body and headstock, a TP-6 tailpiece with ne tuners, and a semi-hollow body with a maple center block to reduce feedback.
Unlike most semi-hollowbody guitars, the B.B. King Lucille’s top doesn’t have any fholes; B.B. himself requested this feature to help further reduce the possibility of feedback. The electronics are equally impressive, with a six-position Varitone switch, a pair of Alnico Classic PRO™ humbucking pickups wired to CTS® potentiometers, and stereo and mono output jacks for maximum exibility. An EpiLite™ case is also included.

I have a musician friend who owns a Lucille Gibson, he no longer plays music and I tried in vain to buy it from him. Since Gibson no longer produces it, I decided to get the Epiphone. The feel is exceptional, the touch perfect, as are the settings. The sound is up to par. Plus, Epiphone had the good idea to remove their logo from the pickguard. You can imagine that I immediately compared it with the Gibson, a 2003 model I believe. Visually no difference, the build quality is the same. The Epiphone has an ebony fretboard, the Gibson a synthetic material, Richlite. The sound. To compare, we plugged both guitars into a preamp with studio headphones. The sound is identical, no perceptible difference, variotone included. The impedance is slightly higher on the Gibson and the output level is a bit higher on the Epiphone. I am delighted with my purchase.... (Show more)

She is big, and it's a bit annoying for me, I don't find the neck great, the frets are too rough for my taste. The pickups are okay, they sound good. The different tones are appreciable (15 in total). It's not too heavy, although that's up to each person's appreciation. Nice tuning machines for the strings. Overall, I'm happy with it.
