The mixer is very easy to use, however I only give two stars for value for money and quality because I encountered some problems with this model.
What I liked anyway:
- the nomadic aspect
- ease of use
What I don't like:
- The output sound is not great, it sounds like there is compression on the master (even though no setting is possible in this regard)
- the gain of the separate tracks in the recorder is quite low... which is not really a problem but still...
- Question: The Livetrak arrived with firmware version 1.23 and the latest firmware version on their site is version 1.12... what about version tracking...
Bugs encountered:
- first concert: the mixer turns off without warning after 20 min, same in rehearsal, second concert it turns off after 1h45 and so I lost the multitrack recording of this concert
- the effects are a bit cheap but well, given the price of the mixer this is not surprising.
- after navigating through the mixer's settings, sometimes I have no sound and I have to lower and raise the faders to get signal again on the concerned inputs...
Just in case, I downgraded the factory firmware with the one on the site but it did not solve the problem.
Important to highlight: Zoom support is very responsive, even on Sundays they reply to emails within a few hours. Unfortunately, they could not help me and advised me to return the product.
Maybe I just had bad luck, but just in case, I will look for another model... Woodbrass initiated the return procedure at my request.
