I started my recordings on a Behringer UMC202HD that I've had for 3 years now and I wanted to upgrade. Initially, I wanted to switch to a UA Volt 276, for its built-in compressor and free UA plug bundle, but trying to be more objective, I realized that the SSL2+ better matched my needs. Indeed, the qualities I can mention that for me are a real improvement for my workflow are: - XLR connections on the back - 2 headphone outputs... FINALLY - A headphone sound for a humble home studio with MIDI input and output! - very little noise - the sound card is quite large compared to others, personally I find that it makes it much more ergonomic! All the knobs are on top, again it's so pleasant to handle. - It is cheaper than some competitors but gives access to more options In my opinion, it also has negative points: - I expected better build quality, it seems a bit fragile, everything is plastic. The packaging is not great either. - Large size and design oblige, unlike my Behringer, I don't think I'll carry it in my backpack. It looks more fragile, and its typical SSL console buttons are very long and stick out a lot, I'd be too afraid to rip one off during travel lol. - The bundles offered with it are less appealing I find, even if the 6-month trial of Antares Autotune is nice, I find them annoying to install, especially the free SSL plugins which are too annoying to validate with Ilok. Anyway, I've had it for a week without really using it and I already feel an improvement in my work ergonomics and in the quality of recordings. I hope this review can help those who are hesitating! Good product. Recognized without issue by the mac M2. Its round and soft sound fits well with my musical universe.

I switched from a Focusrite to this sound card and so far there's clearly a big difference in the build quality.

Very good product, easy to install on W10, the driver can be downloaded from the SSL website and that's it. Good build quality, very low latency. The only downside is that the USB cables are a bit short for my taste. I recommend this interface.

Product purchased to replace a FOCUSRITE 2i4 (1st generation) that burned out! So, since I spend quite a few hours working on my compositions on DAW, I thought I could afford to spend a bit more than initially planned!... SSL, it's true that I let myself be carried away by everything it represents... Well, I'm not disappointed! Super easy installation! Connection, driver installation and off you go...(you just have to register the product on the site to access the driver). The sound is much better than what I had with my 2i4. I have much less background noise and I have less need to intervene on the recordings with Plug-ins. The 4K gives a significant plus in my opinion (especially on vocals and my acoustic guitar). I find the console side practical where the settings are on top, and above all, the input/DAW mix is done via a knob (easy to access) and not via yet another software that you have to install... that was essential for me! The connections are at the back... very good point as well. Very satisfied then!!!

On the good advice of Benoît, I bought this SSL 2+ and I am not disappointed. Very well designed and very simple to operate (no compatibility issues with a latest generation computer for example... since it doesn't need a driver!). The rear jacks and controls allow for the desired configuration, recording, monitoring, multi-source listening instrument/usb sources, possible 4K sound on the 2 switchable channels, which brings a very slight grain and harmonics making the sound less smooth. No audible latency. No hiss. Good power reserve and good dynamics. You can see the experience of such a brand even on a "small model". All in a case that inspires confidence and solidity!

I just finished a sound with this card. The quality of the finish is top, the sound delivered by the preamps is perfect, we always leave the 4k activated. However, I read the documentation which gave a headphone output of 10 ohms, which means you can connect a headphone of 80 ohms or more, ok, you can, by turning the knob almost to the max to have a fairly loud sound... Moreover, as soon as you want to do a vocal recording, you have to play with the button that switches between the sound of your instrumental and the sound of the mic, and there, you lose power again on the headphone output, in the end, you hear neither your voice nor the instrumental when you start singing... If you go for this card, rather take headphones at 32 ohms, it will save you regrets. Regarding the converters, they are really top, the card is recognized directly on the PC, if I had to do it again, I would take it again. I still regret not being able to use 80/250 OHMS headphones for my mastering and vocal recording.

So far very satisfied with this audio interface, I hesitated for a long time with the native Komplete Audio 6, but the fact of being able to have the possibility to listen to a different return with the two headphone jacks tipped the balance and then it's SSL to be confirmed over time!

The build quality is clean, great mic preamp compared to my old sound cards (a Focusrite 2i4 and a Steinberg UR12), my dynamic mic (Shure 55SH) no longer needs an additional Cloud CL1 preamp or Fethead to be audible and there is much less noise than my previous sound cards (I think I'll keep it for a few years).
