One wonders if it's still worth presenting this great microphone. Probably the best value for money in its category compared to SM7, RE20, MD421.
Just like the SM57, you need to have at least one in any microphone collection.
Yet it seems quite a few people don't really know it... yet
The only criticism I can make is that it has undergone some modifications over time and is no longer quite itself.
It sounds more modern with more presence, which can be appealing.
Personally, I preferred the old version, but it remains unbeatable in its category and works really well on drums (especially kick drum and floor tom), bass, guitar amp, and vocals... and surely other sources I haven't had the chance to test.
A different personality from the SM57, but just as versatile and especially broader and more detailed when it comes to capturing low frequencies.
It has nothing to envy to many condenser microphones, except the output level (which remains quite high for a dynamic). In fact, a high-end dynamic is better than an entry-level condenser...
Unlike Shure and AKG, Beyerdynamic has not relocated to China, hence the slightly higher price.
However, the manufacturing remains exemplary and each microphone is measured in an anechoic chamber before leaving the factory.

If you know what it is, you know how it sounds. Killer on bass, guitars, vocals... And many others.
