True to its reputation. The H1N changes the recording quality. I am an amateur, I am a percussionist for an oriental dance association. I create percussion solos and I have to record them for work and choreography rehearsals, so the quality must be very good. The right settings to record percussion are a bit harder to get, but the result is great.

I still lack perspective but I was able to test this recorder solo or connected to an external microphone and I am quite satisfied, so I agree with the general opinion regarding the value for money of the Zoom H1N. Naturally, it is not perfect, a slight background noise may be present but it does not affect my impression of having a good recorder in hand

A more complete paper user manual would have been appreciated... the sound of the voice recording lacks clarity when listened to live but is of better quality with headphones. Some crackling... which I hope to be able to erase with better control of the settings!

I had already purchased the Zoom H1n about ten years ago and was really satisfied with its quality both in terms of sound and usability. All that for a minimal price. Unfortunately, after 2 drops, the second being fatal, I had to say goodbye to my first H1n. Needing this kind of device again, my choice immediately fell on the same product. Its plastic side only makes me give 3 stars in quality because it deserves to be a bit reinforced.

My first purchase of a recorder, until now I was using a microphone plugged into my computer via jack, and the difference in quality is immense. However, it also picks up background noise very well, so you need to test different settings a bit to reduce them as much as possible.

To record a guitar and vocals, this device is more than sufficient, it does its job. I haven't tried it in a group. It is easy to handle. Outdoors, I managed to record bird songs and street noises quite faithfully, although that is not its primary function, but given the price, I didn't expect better. If you want to record ideas that come to you or moments of life, this device is more than sufficient.
