These H.Hats are pure butter, a delight to play, warm & precise as desired, with a "tchick" (foot closure) of formidable efficiency, certainly due to the bottom cymbal being wavy on the edges, a principle that allows air to escape much faster, like the famous Paiste 2002 Sound Edge which pioneered this principle, but especially (oh surprise!...) to this lower edge not turned for about 1 cm, meaning the metal is raw & unmachined! This adds precision & clarity, the metal vibrating less on this raw surface. It was to my great surprise that I discovered this detail (oh, how important!), a detail and description that appear neither on the Zildjian site, nor on the Woodbrass description, a pity... - This pair of Hi-Hats is a gem, Zildjian in all its splendor, a pair that will blend wonderfully with other K and/or K Custom, even Constantinople (I only have Zildjian). The bottom cymbal is "heavy" thickness and the top is "medium-heavy", so the sound will be sharper, more precise & powerful than a pair of K Custom (which I also own) with medium-heavy & medium thickness, thus thinner; because you should know that the thicker the metal, the sharper, more precise & powerful the sound will be but less warm & musical. The name "Mastersound" (master of sound!) is perfectly suited to these H.Hats of formidable precision. - This pair of 14" K H.Hats will therefore be perfect for amplified music like Pop, Country, Folk, Funk, Rock... But maybe a bit too overwhelming & powerful for acoustic music like jazz trio (p, cb, dm). Ideal to amplify and no need to spend hours adjusting, the natural sound being magnificent and musical as desired... And in half-closed opening, this pair of K works wonders, with fat & dripping as desired. Moreover, these H.Hats will improve with time, like all Zildjian anyway. - Many thanks again to the whole Woodbrass team, always professional & attentive... Ordered on Tuesday & arrived the next day Wednesday, incredible, but how do they do it?... Impeccable packaging, protective (important, especially for cymbals!...), a big box with lots of protective plastic tubes, efficient & pro! Congratulations again to Woodbrass, now my favorite site!...
