So there I am simply amazed. I own a ddj sz and RP 8000 vinyl turntables, both devices with Serato, I am a resident DJ at a small club in the south of France. I'm telling you all this to support my opinion. I had a ddj 400 that I bought to take around for small parties at friends' places or elsewhere because the small size is really great, however it works on Rekordbox, I thought it wouldn't be a problem but unfortunately I've been mixing for over 15 years with Serato and I couldn't get used to Rekordbox! Hence the purchase of the DJ impulse 500 which works with Serato. From the moment you open it you feel the weight of the device heavier than the ddj400 and physically, it really looks much less like a toy, the middle plate is made of iron. The buttons are sturdy and feel high quality, the jog wheels too, when you turn it on, lots of lights come on etc etc, I played a whole evening with it honestly, it's great. It's top, the four effects in the middle that's a plus! Only one tiny drawback but I think it's because it's new: the play and cue buttons are not super sensitive. I think before the flx6 there's nothing better! For now of course.
