All guitars in the Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue series are equipped with Gibson Custom Bucker pickups, appreciated by players worldwide for their inimitable Patent Applied For sound. After years of research and experience, Gibson engineers developed a formula and process to replicate the magical sound of the Patent Applied For Humbucker™ pickups produced in the 1950s. Each Custom Bucker pickup is equipped with Alnico 3 magnets delivering a soft and warm tone, accurately reproducing the tonal characteristics of the very first Humbuckers. Like the original Patent Applied For Humbucker pickups, the Custom Bucker features two different coils with 42-AWG wire and no waxing, faithfully reproducing the vintage pickup sound to the delight of the most demanding players.
