The Seymour Duncan Nazgûl/Sentient duo is a very popular kit for metal, progressive, and djent genres.

Seymour Duncan Nazgûl (Bridge)

  • Sound: Ultra aggressive with exceptional low-end response. Perfect for heavy riffs, complex chords, and punchy palm mutes. Despite its aggressiveness, it remains articulate and precise.
  • Main feature: Its high output and balanced EQ favor tight lows, pronounced mids, and sharp highs.
  • Ideal for: Low tunings and 7 or 8-string guitars. Even with low strings, it stays clear and does not get muddy.
  • Playing style: Designed for cutting solos and powerful rhythms, especially in modern metal.

Seymour Duncan Sentient (Neck)

  • Sound: Warmer and rounder, it offers excellent clarity for leads and a modern vintage character. It is often compared to a mix between a classic PAF and a more modern neck pickup.
  • Main feature: Capable of handling crystal-clear cleans as well as singing leads with beautiful sustain. Its dynamics make it very versatile.
  • Ideal for: Smooth solos, detailed arpeggios, and complex clean tones. It perfectly reproduces chords rich in harmonics.
