Shortscale neck version of the Cutlass.
The Cutlass is now available in a compact Shortscale version with a very playable 24-inch neck. Pickup configuration: 1 humbucker + 1 single coil and vintage 2-point tremolo for versatility. Oversized 4+2 headstock for a striking look. Offered in Mint Green with a maple fingerboard or Shell Pink with a laurel fingerboard, this guitar is irresistible for learning with pleasure or creating with new perspectives.
The Cutlass is a classic Music Man model, recently updated by the San Luis Obispo company to benefit from the latest manufacturing improvements, without compromising the Seventies spirit of the original.
Instead of stopping there, the Californians decided to create a shortscale two-pickup version within the "Sterling by Music Man" range. Practically, this means that for a very reasonable price, you get access to a serious instrument that has what it takes where it counts.
Why Shortscale: 24 inches instead of the original Cutlasss 25.5 inches, its shorter and therefore easier to play, as the fret spacing is reduced and the string tension is softer.
Originally, Shortscale guitars were designed for teenagers and female guitarists seeking an easier-to-play instrument for learning. Quickly, experienced guitarists realized it was also a very playful instrument whose ease of play opened new creative perspectives: the approach to the instrument is different, you can try more things because its very easy to play, you allow yourself more original chord progressions around the middle of the neck, the tone is different, the response to effects is great, and it adds a new dimension for slide playing.
