No luck with this double bass: it was delivered with two damaged tuning machines. The customer service immediately sent me a set of adaptable tuning machines (Jazz Bass type), but they didn't fit perfectly. An email, and 10 days later I received two original tuning machines by Chronopost. 8 screwdriver turns and it was fixed. Two conclusions: . mail order has risks . Woodbrass customer service is responsive, fast, and attentive to the customer. Otherwise, I'm convinced by the instrument. I'm a bassist and this is my first double bass. I've already tried acoustic double basses, and I'm not disappointed by this Stagg. I play jazzy, swing, ska, reggae plans and I practice rockabilly with it. I have no idea what it sounds like with a bow and frankly I don't care at all. In summary: . very reasonable price . good finish . convincing sound very close to an acoustic "memere" (on a bass amp) . ergonomics and playing comfort that allow bassists to adapt quickly (nice markers on the side of the neck!) . the headphones allow practicing when everyone is asleep It doesn't just seem like a study instrument to me, but a full-fledged playing instrument.

Ordered Tuesday arrived Thursday. It arrived in impeccable condition. The instrument itself is of a quality that surprised me. Although there is no resonator box, the sound still has the depth and roundness characteristic of a double bass (without having the acoustic "grain"). One could criticize this double bass for its not always optimal finish, for its stand (which seems a bit fragile to me) but well at this price I wasn't expecting the Moon. I am even very pleasantly surprised by the quality/price ratio. Thank you Woodbrass !!!
