Too bad there are only 24 sound banks available... Of course, it is possible to modify the "pre-recorded" ones, or to create new ones, but you always only have 24 available "at the same time" max. Also a pity that you absolutely need Google Chrome (or an Apple device) to be able to enrich/share on Soundmondo...

Bought for Christmas, as a replacement for a DX11 whose midi connection no longer worked, it is a pleasant instrument to use, portable and allows you to find the sounds we loved, 5 stars for that.
The sound delivered by the small built-in speakers is decent. Patch programming is greatly improved thanks to the simplification of their architecture and the touch pad, but there are only 32 factory patches and it cannot read those from older FM synths. Fortunately, Yamaha created the sharing site "Soundmondo" which also includes a patch editor, plus a forum where I found the address of a site that provides all patches from all 4-operator FM synths converted for the reface DX, a real goldmine!
On the negative side, Soundmondo is only accessible with the Chrome or Chromium browser (Linux version) and the patch editor no longer works currently in the latest versions of Chrome. Awaiting a fix, I am saved by a version of Chromium on Linux Fedora.
Finally, I take away one star because this synth is not multitimbral, only polyphonic, even if this is not very important given the usage we make of it, it is still a flaw at a time when Yamaha has processors infinitely more powerful than at the time of the DX.
