Description

Key Information About the AT2035 Condenser Microphone

  • Accurate and natural sound reproduction, with low self-noise for detailed vocals and instruments.

  • Built-in controls: 80 Hz high-pass filter (12 dB/oct.) and -10 dB pad to manage low frequencies and level peaks.

  • Cardioid side-address polar pattern for excellent source isolation.

  • Robust construction, exemplary consistency from unit to unit, shock mount and carrying case included.

A Modern Classic in the Audio-Technica Range

Designed as a reliable mid-range option, the AT2035 sits between entry-level models for beginners and high-end references aimed at professional studios. Compared to simpler microphones in the series, it stands out by adding essential controls (high-pass filter and pad), optimized noise level, and increased ability to handle high sound pressure levels, making it a dependable "workhorse" for demanding studios and creators.

Intended Uses and Target Users

The AT2035 is aimed at singers, podcasters, voice-over artists, and musicians working in home studios as well as professional studios. Its cardioid pattern effectively reduces unwanted room and audience noise, ideal for recording vocals, acoustic guitars, pianos, amps, drum overheads, or corporate recordings. Its side-address design facilitates boom pole placement with a pop filter for clean and consistent recordings.

Key Features for Clear and Controlled Recordings

Low-End Control and Dynamic Management

The 80 Hz high-pass filter cuts rumbles, handling noise, and proximity effect to maintain a clean low end without muddying the mix. The switchable -10 dB pad extends the headroom, allowing capture of powerful sources (energetic vocals, snare drum, brass) while keeping the signal clean.

Precision, Consistency, and Low Noise

The condenser capsule delivers a wide and balanced frequency response, while the low noise floor preserves the finest detail nuances. Manufacturing consistency ensures uniform results across studios, a valuable asset for matched microphone sets.

Accessories and Everyday Reliability

The included shock mount minimizes vibrations and stand noise, and the carrying case protects the microphone during transport. The metal body inspires confidence and withstands heavy use, whether on stage, in the studio, or in conference rooms.

I have been using it for 2 months now and I am completely satisfied. Nothing to do with my old microphone "Eagletone CM 40", the quality is much better on the at 2035, and the voice sounds natural. I use it in addition to an external sound card "LINE 6 ux2" for Hip Hop recording and mixing. Fast delivery ordered on Monday morning, received on Tuesday noon. I recommend it to everyone who is starting with M.A.O and wants a minimum of quality.

Ordered on Thursday morning, received on Friday noon, fast delivery as usual. I used as my first microphone an "EAGLETONE CM 40" at 45€, which was more than enough to start. The quality of the at 2035 is clearly more appreciable, and sounds natural compared to the cm40 which sounded "pinched". I use it in a home studio for Rap recording in addition to a mixing console with a microphone amplifier.

Ordered and received in 24 hours!! I use it in a home studio, in independent amateur rap with a Behringer 1002 fx mixing console. Just testing to compare with my first mic (Eagletone CM 40) which is good for beginners. The sound is clearly appreciable, and the voice comes out natural

Without breaking the bank, it's a good microphone, comfortable for voice, like podcasts, streaming, radio... Even without a compressor, it has a very acceptable roundness and brightness. The only big regret is that it lacks a pop filter which should be provided in the box!

Excellent value for money, a very pleasant reproduction for both voice and acoustic instruments (guitars, oud). Only the microphone suspension is "debatable".
