Rode NT2-A

Description

Essential Information About the RØDE NT2-A Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

  • Large 1-inch HF1 capsule with a "silky" character inspired by the classics of the 1950s-60s.
  • Selectable triple polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8) for total studio versatility.
  • Integrated controls on the body: low-cut filter (flat/40/80 Hz) and attenuation pad (0/-5/-10 dB).
  • Complete studio pack: SM6 with pop shield, 6 m XLR cable, and pouch.

A Successor to the NT2 and a Modern Reference

A true evolution of the legendary NT2, the RØDE NT2-A carries forward the brand's DNA while modernizing sound capture. Its HF1 capsule, designed and manufactured in Australia, was created to meet current recording methods while retaining the warm and silky texture sought after by sound engineers.

Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?

Versatile and precise, the NT2-A is aimed at singers, podcasters, voice-over actors, and creators working in home studios as well as professional studios. Its advanced polar pattern management, low-cut filter, and pad optimize the capture of vocals, acoustic guitars, pianos, percussion, and room ambiences, while limiting unwanted noise and distortion.

Sound Control at Your Fingertips

The NT2-A's physical selectors provide immediate adaptation to the source. In cardioid, effectively isolate a voice; in omni, capture the room and ensemble coherence; in figure-8, enjoy a true face-to-face pair. The low-cut filter at 40/80 Hz cleans up rumbles and footstep noise, while the -5/-10 dB pad secures high-level recordings, up to a max SPL of 147 dB. Delivered with the SM6 shock mount and its integrated pop shield, it ensures mechanical noise reduction and plosive control for clean, professional takes.

Good microphone. However, this model may have design flaws that make it defective even when new. So mandatory after-sales return. So one star less....
