Description

Melodica or pianica is a wind musical instrument, more precisely a free reed. It is similar in its mode of operation to a harmonica, but unlike it, it has a keyboard, which can have a range of an octave and a half to three octaves. Sound is obtained by blowing into the mouth of the instrument, located on the side of the keyboard. The pressure of a key then allows the air to pass through the corresponding reed and obtain a note.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I usually play the harmonica. The melodica is a nice instrument that also allows you to play chords. I like the "nomadic" aspect of these instruments. But it's still not the same feeling as with a harmonica. I was a bit worried about the all-plastic and the risk of a somewhat toy-like sound, but it's okay without being extraordinary. I will use it less than the harmonicas, but it remains an instrument that can find its place in certain styles of traditional and folk music.
