For nearly sixty years, Peavey has been forging its own path toward musical perfection. Founded by Hartley Peavey in 1965 as a sole proprietorship, Peavey Electronics Corporation is today one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of musical instruments, amplifiers, and professional audio systems worldwide, distributing over 2,000 products in more than 130 countries.
The Peavey HP 2® is built with cutting-edge technology, traditional craftsmanship methods, as well as professional-quality enhancements and customizations. When a guitar bears the initials of Peavey's founder and CEO, Hartley Peavey, players can expect an iconic design with a unique touch. The guitar headstock, angled at 10 degrees, is equipped with Schaller® pearloid tuners. The chrome hardware finish completes the instrument's design. The construction and electronics of the HP 2® work in harmony. Two Peavey "custom" wound humbuckers deliver optimal output level and tonal response. They are made using a two-step wax potting process that enables very low noise operation and resistance to feedback. The pickups are mounted directly to the body of the instrument, which further reduces feedback at high volume levels and improves response. A Switchcraft® 3-position selector switch allows high, middle, and low configurations. Players will also find a licensed Peavey/Floyd Rose® double-locking tremolo to complete the guitar. Finally, both the volume and tone knobs are push-pull, allowing individual coil splitting of the pickups.
