I've had quite a few amps (Vox, THR10, Blackstar tube amps, Roland, Mustang 2v2, Mustang 3v2...) and I still own a Marshall DSL5CR (all-tube amp). I own a Gibson LP with Slash signature pickups and a Fender Strat with Custom Shop 69 pickups.
I bought this amp mainly for cleans, Fender amp modeling, to go with my Strat. The cleans are absolutely beautiful (I recommend checking out SteveGuitar or "HackelBerry Guitar" videos on YouTube to get an idea). The crunches are very good too, and I admit the Marshall-type sounds pleasantly surprised me (and as I said, I own an all-tube Marshall).
The tone is very different between my 2 guitars, and the pickup volume plays a big role. So there are presets to adjust, for example the "Aussi Rock" (=AC/DC) preset works well with my LP, I even have to lower the volume a bit on the bridge pickup to get an AC/DC-like sound. On the Strat with the CS69s, this preset doesn't saturate (quite logical given their output level).
The pedalboard shouldn't be overlooked (not included on the 50, standard on the 100) because it's practical... And especially it includes the looper, which is very handy when playing alone (you record the rhythm then you can "solo" over it).
The only frustration is the wifi/bluetooth. When it works, it's great because you can manage updates, presets, and settings. The app is even well made since you can test hundreds of presets shared online with one click. The frustration comes from the fact that bluetooth doesn't always work on iOS devices (iPad or iPhone), the amp is invisible. It's known and has been for a long time if you look at reviews of this amp on Sweetwater (US equivalent of Woodbrass). People have been complaining for about a year. Bluetooth is very finicky.
But apart from that, the amp is very very impressive, it sounds great on cleans, crunches, and even the most saturated. So many sounds... what quality. At this price, it's a bomb :)... (Show more)

From an aesthetic point of view, it is a beautiful device with good finishes, the buttons and jacks are of good quality. From a technical point of view, it is ultra connected: Usb, Wifi and bluetooth, access to the Fender cloud, very practical and easy Tone application, effect loop jacks and stereo line outputs... in short, nothing is missing. From a sound point of view, I bought it to replace a Marshall Code because I was very disappointed with the clean sounds of the latter and here I must say that with this GTX50 it is day and night, my Strat sounds like never before, the sound is full at all frequencies, soft and muffled as desired, the 12-inch speaker really enjoys itself and the Crunch and saturated sounds have nothing to envy to Marshall ;-) All for a great price! (especially in the 3rd markdown) Thanks Woodbrass ;-)... (Show more)

I was looking for a handy, lightweight, and easy-to-use "Swiss Army knife." These criteria are met. Lightweight - it matters a lot if you move around often -. Sufficient power for rehearsal and small concerts (I play with a drummer, a bassist, a pianist!). Access to effects is immediate and very easy; then you need to take time to "explore" everything properly. Some effects are a bit odd and need to be forgotten or reshaped. In short, I recommend it.
