The 12-inch woofer (3-inch voice coil, custom-made) and the tweeter (3-inch titanium diaphragm) are mounted coaxially with a shared magnetic circuit. This architecture aims for better temporal coherence and smoother phase response, resulting in highly intelligible sound: vocals, guitars, brass, and percussion attacks gain definition while maintaining a homogeneous projection sensation.
The large rotatable constant directivity horn, optimized by BEM, ensures a homogeneous dispersion of 90deg x 50deg. Its design allows horn loading of both the woofer and tweeter to concentrate sound energy up to the midrange (around 600 Hz) and maintain control in acoustically demanding environments. Practically, this helps to better "target" the listening area, reduce unwanted reflections, and improve intelligibility.
Thanks to optimized bass-reflex ports, the ICOA PRO 12 A extends down to 53 Hz and offers convincing reproduction in full-range configuration. Its Class D amplifier delivers up to 1000 W RMS (2000 W peak) and a maximum level of 133 dB SPL, with dynamic headroom designed to maintain powerful and clean sound even at high volumes.
The SysCore DSP integrates FIR/IIR filters, a crossover, and sophisticated limiters to preserve clarity and operational safety, even at high levels. The settings are designed for field efficiency: 4 usage presets (including a low-latency mode for stage monitoring), a delay function, and 4-band parametric EQs on input and output channels to precisely adjust the response according to the source, position (stand, wedge, hanging), and room acoustics.
Navigation is via a color screen and a single encoder for quick access to essential parameters. For extended control, the free "ICOA PRO" app allows remote operation from smartphones or tablets, linking multiple speakers, and quickly creating stereo setups of up to two speakers and four subwoofers. Music streaming is managed via Bluetooth 5.1, with TWS for stereo playback between two ICOA PRO 12 A units.
