Description

ignable in each patch, letting you toggle grouped effects on/off or adjust a specified parameter in real time. The newly developed footswitch style provides two switches in the space occupied by one in previous designs, allowing BOSS to equip the ME-80 with a generous array of foot-operated controls while keeping the unit extremely compact and mobile. In addition to the eight main footswitches, the expression pedal is equipped with an integrated toe switch that toggles between foot volume and the current Pedal FX setting.
USB Audio/MIDI Interface Built In

Via USB, you can connect to your computer and capture the output of the ME-80 directly into your favorite DAW to record pro tones with COSM preamps and effects. It's also possible to monitor the ME-80's effects sound while recording an unprocessed signal into a DAW track; after the fact, use the USB Loopback function to “re-ampâ€

Some will say that nothing beats a pedalboard, I hear that, and even though mine is modest (3 pedals in total) I understand the advantages. However, the ME80 immediately won me over: it has the spirit, the sound remains very usable, and all that for much less than a nearly equivalent setup. I had already tried the Zoom and Korg multi-effects (entry-level) without ever being satisfied. The sound design was limited and unrewarding, the modulated sounds appeared hollow, and the OD/distortions sounded cheap. The ME80 is very well built and finished. The many knobs seem very solid. The expression pedal also feels well made. In terms of sound, as usual with multi-effects, there are hits and misses, but it covers all styles... However, let's forget the few factory presets, this machine is meant to easily create your own sounds, and it can be formidable in that regard. Of course, the beast has flaws, notably the octaver which is clearly approximate (the 70 had the same issue), overly complex sounds can be difficult to mix and often tend to saturate. Beyond that, it's unbeatable value for money, and coupled with my small pedalboard, it's even more possibilities... at €279, I can only highly recommend it even if, as a final downside, the USB cable is not included in the box...... I give my opinion after 3 months of use: Very good product, not perfect but very good. A little disappointed at first with the distortions that I found chemical (I play on an old Marshall Valvestate with muddy distortions) but after playing more I realize that the distortions are simply "clean". Personally, I love the "BLUES" distortion. The amp simulation is not bad since it adds even more distortions. Chorus echo reverb: 20 out of 20. I am currently discovering the other effects as I am not familiar at all with flanger and co. The expression pedal travel is too short, a pity. Great product, I recommend it.

Excellent product, although normal coming from Boss who is a reference in effects. Only small drawback, the compressor is located in an effect section, which paralyzes the rest for those who add a compressor at the beginning of the chain. I still recommend it
