Line 6 POD GO

Description

POD GO
SOUND OBJECTIVE

The POD® Go guitar processors take you on a journey to the ultimate sound thanks to their ultra compact and lightweight design, their very simple plug & play interface and unrivaled sounds.

? OUTSTANDING SOUNDS
Professional-quality amp, speaker and effect models from the famous HX effect processor family deliver unmatched tones. You can also load impulse responses (IR) from third-party speakers to provide almost endless possibilities for creating sound.

? CLEAR USER INTERFACE
The simple and clear plug & play interface as well as the simple and intuitive procedures make POD Go child's play. Choose, modify and control your sounds with the large color LCD screen, five pressure encoders, eight foot switches and a multifunction expression pedal. If that's not enough, add a second expression pedal or two external foot switches to further increase real-time control.

? NOMAD
Light, compact and eminently portable, the POD Go guitar processor fits in a backpack, making it the perfect companion for short tours, plane trips and rehearsals.

? SNAPSHOTS
Snapshots allow you to create up to four variations within a single preset and make smooth transitions between them, without audio loss or untimely cutting of the fall of the delay and reverb effects when you change the preset.

? ESSENTIAL I / O
Connections include balanced stereo outputs, an amplifier output that can be placed before the Cab / IR block, a stereo effects loop, a headphone jack and even a USB jack to access the audio interface with 4 inputs / 4 outputs.

? POD GO EDIT APP
POD Go Edit allows you to easily and quickly modify the sounds of POD Go on Mac® or PC. With this app, you can edit and manage presets, load impulse responses, export and share sounds, and update the system.

? AUDIO INTERFACE
A professional 4x4 24bit / 96kHz USB audio interface facilitates direct computer recording. It also allows the ?re-amping? of already recorded parts by exploiting in particular IR files containing speaker data from third parties.

8. LOADING THIRD-PARTY IMPULSE RESPONSES
Impulse responses (IR) from third-party speakers can be loaded and integrated into the signal of any preset to provide almost endless possibilities for creating sound.

? Simple and intuitive interface with a large screen
? Compact, ultra-portable and lightweight
? +270 amp and effect models from HX and older generations
? Loading impulse responses from third parties
? Stereo effects loop and input for optional expression pedal on balanced connector
? Free app 'POD GO edit'
? Up to 6 simultaneous amps, cabs and effect blocks (including looper and ir)
? Sensitive footswitch with colored led ring for quick editing

The Pod Pro delivers on all its promises. Great sounds, highly customizable, easy to use, usable on stage or at home. Its main limitations compared to a Helix LT or a Helix Stomp should be considered based on the use you want to make of it. Plenty of videos and articles talk about it on the net: only 4 blocks to insert effects can be annoying if you like stacking effects (it's enough for me), simple amp/cab routing, proprietary preset format (Helix presets can be translated by apps on the net and entered with minimal effort without problem, but the Line6 community is very large) and the driver software (which is actually very practical). But you can load IRs and you have hundreds of effects, amps, and cabs to try and the entire custom shop to explore. If you have some IRs, it's even better, the basic ones are average. Compared to the stomp, the presence of the pedal, the different usage modes (editing, mainly pedalboard) are very well thought out. After an hour on the beast, you'll feel at home and see the incredible sound potential you'll have super easily and intuitively. You can have 4 variations (snapshots) of each preset. Sound-wise, well, it's the Helix ones, very good but the influence of different parameters is sometimes far from the behavior of the originals (and sometimes there isn't much response). Special mention to the LINE6 amp creations, excellent. Compared to a plugin, it's more responsive, maybe because of the absence of latency. I recommend it 100% if you're looking for a pedalboard around 400 bucks.... (Show more)

Here, I'm not a fan of overly complicated stuff, I'm used to simple things: a guitar, an amp, a Delay pedal, period. But I wanted a device to play with headphones at home, quietly, relaxed, with my slippers on my feet and a beer nearby and the cat on the other side—yes, the cat likes to walk everywhere it shouldn't, anyway, it's a cat. So what was I talking about? Oh yes, the thing that makes sound to play with headphones. So for a Sunday musician like me, it's perfect, not too hard to master for an old guy like me. The sound is good, I have to say that without being overjoyed, it's really not bad, not too digital, which was my fear. I have to admit it sounds really good, so if you like slippers, beer, and that damn cat that walks everywhere "what a klutz this cat is, the beer spilled, I'll be right back, I have to clean up." Well, a beer later, I'm back to my opinion, so this little thing is a super nice tool to work with headphones and make your compositions quietly at home. Here's a quick composition with a sound I managed to get out of the beast, well, I'm an amateur guitarist, it is what it is, here's the link and thanks for reading me. https://soundcloud.com/burnt-offering-401577418/jess_3... Having had a last experience with multi-effects about 15 years ago, I was skeptical about the sound especially live, but the technology has evolved well and the result is up to par. Used at home in a home studio and in rehearsal directly through the PA, in both cases it does the job very well even for high gain. The possibilities and hardware choices are huge even if in the end I only use a few IRs and the most well-known amps. I don't use many effects simultaneously so CPU limitation is not a problem for me. The interface is quite simple and intuitive on the pod go and the PC software is also easy to handle. I think I'll keep this gear for a good while, not having to carry my 30kg speaker to every rehearsal is really comfortable... (Show more)

I haven't had time to seriously look into the beast yet. For now, I've just played around with the factory presets which, for the most part, are very convincing, even though the volume can vary from one preset to another by a factor of two, but there is surely a way to fix this problem. One last remark, there is only a simple double-sided sheet called "aide mémoire" as a user manual. As someone who is among those politely called "experienced musicians" (that is, those who have properly learned to read at school), I find this a bit light but I was quickly able to download a complete user manual, in which there are not just pictures to look at.

I am super satisfied, compared to the Moore te 150, there's no comparison, at the same time it's not the same price either, you have to study the manual because there are still a lot of possibilities, but otherwise it's beautiful, it sounds great, total bliss

Using the product without a PC (for settings) is not very intuitive, however, with the PC everything works well. The quality of the effects (guitar and bass) as well as the amp modeling are impressive. A very good substitute for the Helix for smaller budgets.

Owning a Helix, I bought the Pod Go for its better portability. Despite the lower processor power, it is possible to manually redo quite a few Presets using the IRs. The handling is also very easy.
