I also own a very high-end Sony MDR7250 that I use to check my mixes, but I prefer the K240 for editing because it is less tiring for the ears. The AKG K240 that I had for 20 years was in bad condition and I replaced it with a new K240 (this one is not made in Austria like my old K240). Comparing it to the Sony, which was worth 10 times more, I would say the bass of the K240 is a bit light and not very present in the low spectrum, but it is well balanced and sufficiently defined in the mids and highs. It's probably not ideal for mixing, but anyway, you shouldn't mainly mix on headphones. The K240 is a very widely used headphone in studios. A reference and a good investment.

The best headset I know (but I don't know them all ;^)
A precise, neutral sound: a real pleasure!
Only one flaw in my humble opinion: fragility of the internal connections, the two rods that form the headband at the top of the headset also serve as audio connections to the right earpiece and during concert recording situations I tended to remove one of my ears by passing the earpiece behind my head, the solder joints ended up breaking and this headset is not very easy to disassemble. This is the third unit I buy so I'm stopping the "nonsense".

What to say except that for the price, this headset is wonderful! The sound is very neutral, good bass presence without overdoing it, and the highs are very well reproduced, perfect for mixing! I find it a bit weak in sound power though, that's the only flaw I would give it. But the big positive point is that it is very comfortable, even after hours on the head, and at this price, that's impressive! In short, for home studio use or playing an instrument, this headset is perfect.

Bought on sale, and what a great deal! Besides having a great look, it is very comfortable and offers very good sound without being harsh. I even have the impression that the sound doesn't come from the headset, that's saying something! Ideal for playing an instrument at home in your apartment with music, for working without disturbing the neighbors.

Perfect for rehearsal as a monitor on my vocal effects pedal. Allows hearing all the musicians. Slightly reduces the external volume of the sound (personally, a plus because we play loud), but doesn't eat too much of the mid-high frequencies.

My second headset of the same model because of excellent value for money. Balanced sound and no auditory fatigue thanks to the opening.

Good sound. No sensation of booming sound. Clear sound resembling listening on a speaker. This is what I was looking for
