There are times when you will want to connect certain sound sources straight to other audio gear, be it for a live performance or a studio session. A direct connection between audio equipment can be a challenge though: technical problems crop up that’ll corrupt the signal.

The DI400P lets you connect instruments or amplifier outputs. It converts any unbalanced signal to a balanced signal and eliminates unwanted noise. With its high-performance transformer, it also allows you to use very long cables without the loss of high frequencies.

This is the sort of medicine that’ll cure headaches in your studio or on stage.

Good DI, it does the job well! I use it to send a basic Casio LK-125 keyboard via a new 1.50m small jack to the DI, which is itself connected via a new 3m male-female XLR cable to the brand new Behringer Xenyx X2222 mixing console, the console outputs via a new double jack/RCA cable to a monitoring speaker (not new). I use the phantom power from my console to connect the keyboard via the DI to the microphone inputs (using XLR cable) rather than the line inputs and the volume is very high, no power issues. I feel that even without using phantom power there would be no power issues but I haven't tried. The sound is faithful and no unwanted noise, no distortion of the original keyboard sound, that's what I wanted.
