Henle Verlag BRAHMS JOHANNES - 51 EXERCICES - PIANO

Description

Johannes brahms
51 Piano exercises

Camilla Cai (Publisher)

Like many nineteenth-century composers, Brahms also made a living by giving piano lessons. In doing so, he brings together a whole collection of exercises, first written occasionally for his students and which he then exchanges with other pianists (eg Clara Schumann). It is only after having largely ceased his pedagogical and pianistic activity that he thinks of publishing it. In view of the degree of difficulty, he proposed the following title for the collection: "All imaginable instruments of torture, from thumbs to the iron virgin". We are publishing this collection of exercises, essential for romantic play, as an Urtext edition based on the text of the "Neue Brahms-Gesamtausgabe" (new complete edition of Brahms' works).
