Henle Verlag RAVEL JEUX D'EAU PIANO

Description

The sounds of water - jets of water, cascades and streams - have always been a favorite subject of musical impressionism. Following Liszt, who had already followed this path with his “Water games at the Villa d'Este”, Ravel was also inspired by this theme. In doing so, he innovated on the compositional level: in his “Water games”, he developed an “outstanding” harmony and achieved new descriptive sound effects. This shimmering sound painting is the beginning of our Urtext editions of this master of French music. To obtain an optimal notation of this eminently complex music, we have somewhat enlarged our Urtext format... and thus guarantee an ideal readability !?
