u-he Uhbik 2 is a suite of effect plugins designed to cover essential audio processing in music production, post-production, and sound design. It is used both to clarify and stabilize a mix (compression, equalization, filtering) and to create movement (tremolo, phaser, flanger) or radically transform a source (grainshift, shifter, filtered distortion). Thanks to multichannel support, Uhbik 2 integrates naturally into both stereo projects and surround sessions, for immersive ambiances, spaces, and textures.
Uhbik 2 combines ten complementary processors, each conceived as a standalone "studio" tool. You can build a complete chain within your DAW: add depth, enhance attack, control dynamics, widen the spectrum, sculpt timbre, and inject rhythmic modulations. The whole aims for a musical result, but with a creative reserve that suits electronic, cinematic, ambient, pop, rock, or experimental productions.
The creative core of Uhbik 2 is its modulation: multi-wave LFOs, envelopes, and a 128-step Mapper (usable as a sequencer) allow fine animation of a delay, making a reverb breathe, rotating a phaser asymmetrically, or turning a filter into a rhythmic instrument. Combined with MIDI control, this system encourages lively automations, evolving textures, and "performable" effects in real time.
Each effect is designed to deeply work spatialization, with support up to 8 channels. Whether you are applying ambience reverb on a surround bus, panoramic tremolo on a stem, or a shifter for a strange sound scene, Uhbik 2 adapts to common multichannel setups without sacrificing control precision.
Uhbik Ambience (Reverb): reverb ranging from small rooms to vast atmospheres, combining early reflections and plate-type algorithms for controllable depth.
Uhbik Compressor: musical compression with adaptive release and an upward compression ("inflation") approach to thicken without squashing.
Uhbik Delay: five "tape heads" with tap-based feedback, tone filters, and flutter modulation for lively and complex echoes.
Uhbik Flanger: from classic band flanger to BBD-type chorus, with per-channel processing to enrich stereo or multichannel.
Uhbik Grainshift: two modes (granular pitch shifting or phase vocoding) for doubling, textured transposition, and alien timbres.
Uhbik Phaser: up to 42 all-pass filters for very rich sweeps, with deep modulation and a wide sonic signature.
Uhbik EQ: two-band semi-parametric EQ with brick-wall filters for precise yet musical sculpting.
Uhbik Runciter (Filter/Distortion): resonant multimode filter with fuzz, overdrive, and envelope follower for aggressive basses, lively leads, and transition effects.
Uhbik Shifter (Frequency Shifter): from micro-coloration like chorus/phasing to unsettling spectral transformations, ideal for sound design.
Uhbik Tremolo: amplitude modulation, panning, and rhythmic movements to give pulse, groove, and breathing to an instrument or bus.
