Complete software
Waves Renaissance Equalizer is a software equalizer designed to sculpt the frequency balance of a track or bus with an approach that is both simple, efficient, and highly controllable. It is used both to clean up a recording (attenuate a resonance, tame harshness, reduce overpowering bass) and to enhance an element in the mix (presence of a vocal, attack of a snare, brightness of an acoustic guitar). Thanks to its neutrality, it naturally fits all styles, from modern music production to audio editing for picture.
Renaissance EQ offers a modular configuration of 2, 4, or 6 bands to adapt the tool to the task: quick correction on a track, detailed equalization of an instrument, or more comprehensive processing on a subgroup. Each band is not limited to a fixed zone: you place your frequencies freely across the entire spectrum, facilitating both "surgical" work and broader shaping.
All bands offer the classic bell and shelf responses. The low and high bands go further with filter options as well as a resonant shelf reminiscent of certain vintage analog equalizer curves. The result: you can switch from clean correction to a more musical accentuation without complicating the workflow.
The built-in spectrum analyzer displays in real time the impact of your settings on the frequency response. To speed up decisions, the display shows the frequency under the cursor in Hertz and notes, useful for identifying a resonance linked to pitch or placing a presence area more intuitively.
Since gain staging is critical with an equalizer, the Trim control indicates available headroom or overload. One click enables automatic level adjustment to avoid clipping, making the plugin particularly comfortable in dense processing chains.
You can link left/right channels for coherent equalization or process them separately to correct stereo imbalance. The multipoint interface allows viewing all parameters at once, with multiple skins including a "Dark" theme suited for video editing environments.
To save time, Renaissance EQ includes 310 presets created by 54 award-winning producers and engineers, offering quick starting points for vocals, drums, guitars, keyboards, buses, and common mixing situations.
