Speed-Free Recordings Thanks to the FR-AV2’s advanced recording format, which works at a digital resolution of 32-bit floating point and a sampling rate of up to 192 kHz, you will never have to abandon a recording because it is saturated or the audio level is too low. When recording at lower digital resolutions, such as 16-bit or 24-bit, high-level sound sources can create digital clipping that cannot be corrected later.
High-End Combo Inputs (XLR/TRS) Connect microphones and professional line-level sources directly to the FR-AV2’s two Ultra HDDA preamps. With an equivalent noise level of just –127 dBu at the input, your recordings will have maximum clarity, with virtually no background noise. In addition, the 3.5 mm stereo input allows you to use wireless receivers, lavalier microphones or any audio source of your choice.
Full Timecode Generation The FR-AV2 allows you to simplify your video equipment and take fewer devices on set. The recorder sends and receives timecode via its 3.5 mm jack input/output for DSLR cameras, and it supports jam-sync on all external timecode-capable devices. Using the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter, you can also sync to the timecode of Atomos UltraSync Blue-compatible devices.
