AN IDEAL AUDIO RECORDER FOR PODCAST
Four-track simultaneous recording and interchangeable mic capsules make the H5 flexible and capable enough to meet the growing needs of today's creators. Designed to meet professional requirements, the ZOOM H5 recorder completes the range and adds highly anticipated features. Offering 4 recording tracks (2 microphone/line inputs on XLR combo, two dedicated removable capsule inputs), the H5 allows the user to choose the microphone they use; The XYH-5 pair included with the unit can be replaced by the MSH-6 Mid-Side capsule, the SGH-6 “shotgun” microphone, or EXH-6 microphone/line inputs.

A PROFESSIONAL QUALITY CAPSULE AND PREAMP
The XYH-5 mic capsule design allows the H5 to accommodate up to 140 dB SPL of sound pressure – the sound equivalent of a jet plane at less than 60 meters away! And to keep your levels in check, the H5 offers compressor and limiter. The H5's rubberized housing and suspension-mounted microphones minimize vibration and handling noise, while a low-cut filter helps eliminate wind noise and other types of low-frequency rumble. The H5 uses the same high-quality, low-noise preamps as our flagship H6, ensuring great-sounding recordings in all acoustic environments.

A MICROPHONE WITH SEVERAL RECORDING POSSIBILITIES
The pre-record function captures and records the two seconds of audio before pressing the record button – perfect for recording on the fly. The auto-record feature allows the H6 to automatically start and stop recording when a preset sound threshold is reached. The H5's Backup Record* feature automatically records a second pair of L/R tracks with 12 dB lower input gain. This audio safety net helps protect your recordings. * WAV files at 44.1 and 48 kHz only.

I use it as a work tool to exchange and share comps. I love the simplicity and sound quality. It's easier to implement than a studio mic. And above all, it allows me to work guitar and voice and more than record one track after another. I can also have my separate tracks for voice / guitar and general ambiance, knowing that later I can mix the four simultaneous tracks.

One of the best recorders on the market at this price. I especially recommend it for its great ergonomics with its very practical front panel potentiometers. The included XYH-5 capsule delivers very good results. However, be aware that this capsule is very sensitive to wind outdoors and plosives during voice recording. Plan for a furry windshield and a pop filter.

Musician concerned about the quality of my recordings, I have long used Zoom portable recorders. The H5 perfectly meets my needs. I preferred to add the MSH-6 capsule because the original one is far too fragile, as well as the RC4 remote control which facilitates remote handling. It's a pity that the SD memory card is no longer included.

I am very satisfied with the Zoom H5. I was looking for a long-duration stereo recorder to complement my Boss BR-800 which tops out at 9:00 on 1 track with 32GB (advertised 272 hours in the manual, with 32GB...). Here, with the Zoom H5, no bad surprises, I have more than 200 hours in stereo, and the sound quality is excellent!

Unbeatable value for money thanks to the Woodbrass promotion offering the APH 5 pack with the recorder. That's what prompted me to buy the set because the power supply, remote control, and Roycote-style windscreen are essential to use the equipment

Perfect for podcasting. I wish it were possible to put a cap on top of the microphone when not in use (using external microphones) to lighten the device, reduce its size, and make it more discreet for my podcasts. I haven't found if this exists?
