Designed in the spirit of RTOM's attenuation solutions, this pad uses the "Moongel-type" gel principle to offer a playing feel radically different from a standard pad. It is positioned as a specific technical practice tool, intended for drummers who want to push snare drum training to the max while remaining extremely quiet.
The RTOM Moongel is aimed at intermediate to advanced drummers (and instructors) seeking a drum practice pad focused on endurance, precision, and movement efficiency. Perfect for rudiment work, finger control, double strokes, and velocity, it suits all styles where the snare drum is central: rock, metal, funk, pop, marching, and urban music.
Its removable gel-filled membrane, similar to that used in Moongel, is inserted into a dedicated support. This support includes three adhesive pads for secure grip on tables, drums, flight cases, or work surfaces, and an 8 mm threaded insert for clean stand mounting. The "zero rebound" feel accelerates control development by forcing the drummer to produce and master each stroke without the usual elasticity.
Very muffled and short, the RTOM Moongel prioritizes silence over projection. The absence of rebound and the gelled nature of the membrane greatly reduce vibrations: the result is a dry, discreet impact, ideal for technical practice in apartments, dressing rooms, or backline, while maintaining a clear response under the stick.
