The S2 Vela Satin is a vintage-inspired guitar full of personality and tonal textures. It features a modern asymmetrical body shape, and the addition of a satin nitro finish gives it style, enhanced resonance, and an incredibly addictive feel.
Its electronics include a PRS DS-01 treble pickup for a bright, punchy, almost punk-like tone, while the Type-D single-coil bass pickup delivers a biting, articulate sound. The tone control includes a push/pull function to split the treble pickup into single-coil mode, offering a balanced tone that cuts through the mix with clarity.
The PRS fixed bridge features two brass saddles for intonation compensation, inspired by Paul’s early designs and traditional bass bridges. It’s top-loading for easy string changes and, like the bridge on the Paul’s Guitar and select Private Stock models, it combines brass saddles with an aluminum plate for enhanced sustain.
