Designed for musicians seeking expansive atmospheres and immediate inspiration, the Strymon Cloudburst is a compact stereo ambient reverb pedal capable of transitioning from a small, natural room to infinite soundscapes. Its exclusive algorithm and Ensemble feature open up organic harmonic textures that respond to your playing, bringing studio-quality sound directly to your pedalboard.
Cloudburst combines several finely tuned reverbs: With low Decay, you get realistic and detailed short spaces; at the other end of the spectrum, the algorithm stretches the material to create immense and airy atmospheres. The pre-delay controls the difference between the direct signal and the reverberated field to preserve the attack, while Tone adjusts the brightness (soft and warm on the left, sharp and present on the right). Modulation adds movement—from subtle shimmers to retro synth waves. Ensemble: the integrated “string section”
The Ensemble switch (Off / mp / forte) continuously analyzes your signal across 48 bands and generates partials in real time. Used subtly, it thickens the reverb with a “string” presence. Pushed to forte, it deploys a lush orchestral carpet that is responsive to your touch, the selected microphone, and the volume envelope: no fixed synth feel, but a musical and organic extension of your playing. Essential controls, immediate results The front panel is deliberately simple and intuitive: Decay (length and character of the reverb, with internal settings that adjust automatically), Mix (from full dry to full wet, 50/50 point at around 3 p.m.), Pre-Delay, Tone, and Mod (depth then speed after mid-range). Power options allow for kill-dry for effects loops and analog dry path. The footswitch engages/bypasses with status LED.
Despite its small size, Cloudburst is a full-featured stereo pedal: TRS input (mono TS or stereo TRS via adapter) and TRS output (mono TS or stereo TRS). The I/O Mode selector offers mono, mono-stereo, and stereo-stereo. The EXP/MIDI jack accepts expression pedals, MultiSwitch/MiniSwitch, Gel/Infinite modes, or MIDI TRS. USB-C provides MIDI control and firmware updates. 300 MIDI presets allow you to save each sound for your set.
Strymon combines a class A JFET analog front end, 24-bit/96 kHz converters, and an ARM Superscalar processor for a signal-to-noise ratio of 116 dB. You can choose between relay true bypass (default) or high-end buffered bypass to preserve high frequencies on long chains. The sky blue anodized aluminum chassis ensures lightness and robustness, ready for both stage and studio use.
Everything you need to know to integrate the Strymon Cloudburst into your setup (mono, wet/dry, stereo, recording, and control).
