The N8 captures a space as it sounds live and in person, with all the subtlety and nuance present. Its extended frequency response and balanced bass make it extremely effective at capturing the full width of sound from the back of a room, above a drum set, or above a string section.
It has the widest frequency range of any mic in the AEA line and effortlessly handles more complex audio sources like drums, strings, piano and other instruments that produce complex transients, harsh highs and screaming bass. The N8's full potential is perhaps best realized when configured in a stereo package, as it builds on the same successful sonic concepts as the AEA R88.
